About Me

I am an ecologist and conservationist with a passion for studying and safeguarding the diverse and unique ecosystems found in tropical regions around the world. I grew up in Durham, North Carolina and I enjoy researching landscape health and I am particularly interested in the ethical conservation of rainforest. I am lucky to have had the privilege of working alongside some of the most dedicated people in the world. This work has allowed me to meet some of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time, including habitat destruction, climate change, and species extinction. But it has also given me the chance to be a part of the solution, working to protect and restore the ecosystems that are so vital to the health and well-being of our planet. Generally my research efforts are focused on the impacts of landscape level change. I seek to accurately describe how and why these precious habitats are being degraded / destroyed.
